NOT YOUR REGULAR BRISKET 
3 1/2 to 4 lb. beef brisket, trimmed
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. soy sauce
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 green pepper, sliced
1/2 c. raisins
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 (20 oz.) can unsweetened apples, sliced and drained

Put brisket in a large pot or baking dish. Combine water and soy sauce, pour over brisket. Sprinkle with pepper; cover and simmer for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Add onion, green pepper, raisins, brown sugar and apple slices. Simmer for 30 to 40 more minutes. Remove brisket and slice. Serve with sauce from cooking pan poured over meat.
