MEAT LOAF | |
1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef 1/2 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed tomato soup 1 c. cracker or bread crumbs 1 egg 1/2 c. cubed Cheddar cheese 1 onion, chopped 1/2 med. green pepper, chopped 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 c. water 1/2 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed tomato soup Combine first 9 ingredients. Mix well and form into one large or two small meat loaves. (Freeze, if desired, and bake without thawing.) Place in greased baking dish. Combine water and 1/2 can tomato soup and pour over loaf. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. During last 10 minutes, top with cheese, if desired. Yield: 8 to 10 servings. |
