1 loaf French bread 8 strips bacon 12 oz. Swiss cheese, thinly sliced 1 1/2 sticks butter 1 med. onion, chopped 1 sm. can mushrooms, chopped 2 tbsp. poppy seed 4-5 tbsp. Guldens mustard Trim all crust from loaf except from the bottom. Make 1 1/2" slices sliced almost all the way through loaf. Fill with cheese slices, doubling up. Place on foil, enough to wrap. Saute mushrooms and onions in butter. Add poppy seed and mustard. Blend thoroughly while heating. Spoon all of mixture over bread. Place bacon lengthwise over loaf. Wrap in foil. Bake 1/2 hour at 350 degrees. Open and expose bacon and broil until bacon is brown. Serve hot. |
