CHERRY WINKS 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. finely chopped dates
1/3 c. finely chopped maraschino cherries
5 c. corn flakes, crushed
15 or more quartered maraschino cherries

Measure and crush corn flakes; set aside. Sift dry ingredients. Cream butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until fluffy. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in nuts, dates, and fine cherries. Shape level tablespoons of dough into balls. Roll in crushed corn flakes. Top with quartered cherries. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 12 minutes or until brown.
