CHERRY WINKS 
2 1/4 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
11/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. dates, chopped fine
1/3 c. maraschino cherries, chopped fine
2 1/2 c. Corn Flakes or 2/3 c. Corn Flake crumbs
18 maraschino cherries, quartered

Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Blend butter and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Stir in milk and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients together with nutmeats, dates and chopped cherries, mix well. Shape dough into ball, using 1 level tablespoon for each ball. Roll ball in Corn Flake crumbs; place on greased baking sheet. Top each cookie with 1/4 maraschino cherry. Bake in 375 degree oven for about 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Yield: 6 dozen cookies.
