TEA SCONES 
2 c. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. butter
1 beaten egg
1/2 c. milk
2 eggs slightly beaten separately

Mix thoroughly flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until mix resembles breadcrumbs. Add beaten egg and milk until dough clings together. Knead. Pat onto floured surface and spread about 1/2-inch thick. Cut into wedges or rounds. Brush with slightly beaten egg.

Bake for about 15 minutes in a 425°F oven.
