BROWN BREAD | |
Take a large cup of oatmeal, 1/2 cup molasses, salt, 2 tablespoons shortening. Pour 2 cups boiling water over and stir and cool. In 1/2 cup lukewarm water and 1 package yeast and let stand until it raises and then mix into the oatmeal mixture. Add flour until it can be kneaded down. Let raise and put in three 1 loaf tins. Raise over pan and bake at 370 degrees for 3/4 hour. Take from pan and cool. |
