SPARERIBS AND SAUERKRAUT 
2 lbs. spareribs
2 tbsp. fat
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 qt. sauerkraut

Cut ribs into pieces, place in Dutch oven. Brown on both sides. Add season and cover. Reduce heat and cook slowly 1 1/2 hours. Add and place meat on top; cook for 30 minutes.
