BOSTON BAKED BEANS | |
4 slices bacon 1 c. chopped onion 1 clove garlic, minced or pressed 2 cans (15 oz. each) pinto beans 1/2 c. water 1/4 c. tomato ketchup 1/4 c. molasses 1 tbsp. Dijon style mustard 1/2 tsp. powdered ginger 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. black pepper PREPARATION: 1. Slice bacon into 1/2 inch strips. 2. Saute bacon, onion and garlic for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. 3. Drain beans. Combine beans, onion mixture and remaining ingredients in a 1 quart casserole. 4. Bake covered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. 5. Uncover. Bake 30 minutes longer. 6. Serve beans with barbecued meat or chicken. |
