FRENCH MEAT PIE 
2 lbs. ground pork
2 lbs. ground beef
3 med. sized potatoes, mashed
1 med. onion, chopped
1 tsp. ground allspice
1 tsp. ground clove
Salt and pepper
2 pie crust shells

Cover meat and onions with water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 2 hours. Drain meat (save fluid). Combine mashed potatoes and meat; add spices. Blend well. Mixture should be moist, but not dripping. If too dry, add some of reserved liquid. If too wet, add crushed soda crackers (saltines). Put in 2 pie shells. Bake at 375 degrees until crust is brown.
