1 c. flour
2/3 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. heaping butter
1 c. King syrup
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. hot water
1/4 c. hot water
1 tsp. baking soda

Mix flour, brown sugar, and butter; reserve 1/2 cup for top. To remaining crumbs, add syrup, beaten egg, and hot water. Dissolve soda in 1/4 cup hot water. Add to crumb mixture. Put filling in 10-inch pie crust. Top with crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
