WILD ROSE SALAD | |
1 can (1 lb.) pear halves, drained 1 pkg. lime gelatin, prepared, slightly thickened 1 fresh peach half, canned may be used 1 tsp. BLAIR red food coloring in 1 pt. water 1 sm. carton cottage cheese Lettuce leaves Tint rounded side of pear halves a delicate pink in food coloring mixture. Place peach half in center of a deep round cake pan, cut side down. Arrange pear halves around peach half, petal fashion, cut side up. Pour Jello over all to about 3/4 inch deep. Beat the remaining Jello until frothy and add cottage cheese. Pour very carefully over the fruited layer. Chill until firm and unmold in a bed of lettuce leaves. The design will be similar to a wild rose and very attractive. |
