BANANA BREAD 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1/2 c. sour milk
2 c. flour
1/2 c. nutmeats
1 c. mashed overripe bananas (1-2 bananas)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, milk, vanilla, lemon extract, bananas and nutmeats. Stir, then add dry ingredients. Pour in greased and floured bread pans. Fill about 1/2 full. Bake at 350 degrees until test done (about 45 minutes to 1 hour).
