NEVER FAIL BANANA BREAD 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. mashed bananas
1 1/2 tbsp. sour milk
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs, then beat. Add bananas, sour milk and mix with spoon. Add dry ingredients, mix well. Add 1 cup nuts if you want. Pour into greased loaf pan 9 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches or two small pans. Let stand at room temperature for 20 minutes before baking. Bake 45 to 60 minutes at 350 degrees.
