DEFINITIVE DATE BARS 
2 eggs
1 1/4 c. confectioners' sugar plus some for coating
1 c. lightly packed moist pitted dates cut in very sm. pieces
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. butter, melted

In a large mixer bowl beat eggs and 1 1/4 cups confectioners' sugar until light colored. Stir in remaining ingredients in order listed. Spread in greased 9 x 9 inch pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven until golden or cake springs back when touched with fingertip, 25-27 minutes. Cool in pan on rack 15 minutes. Cut in 2 x 1 inch bars. Roll in confectioners' sugar to coat. Cool on rack. Makes 32.
