GREEN TOMATO CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1/2 c. raisins
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. green tomatoes, chopped
1/2 c. nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice

TOPPING:

1 c. water
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 stick butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cook topping ingredients until thick. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Wash and chop tomatoes. Sprinkle with salt and let set for 20 minutes.
