YELLOW CAKE 
2 3/4 c. all purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/4 c. milk

Sift together, flour, baking powder and salt. In mixing bowl, beat butter on medium speed about 30 seconds then add sugar and vanilla. Beat until well combined. Add eggs, one at a time, beating 1 minute after each. Add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, alternating with milk. Beat on low speed after each addition until just combined. Turn into prepared pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool for 10 minutes on wire racks. Remove cakes from pans, cool completely. Frost.
