CHEESECAKE CHERRY PIE 
Cream:

1/2 c. butter
2 tbsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. sifted flour

Press mixture over bottom and up sides of 9 inch pie plate.

1 (#2) can sour cherries
1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. flour
1/8 tsp. red food coloring
2 (3 oz.) cream cheese
1 egg
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Drain cherries, reserving juice. Combine sugar and flour in saucepan. Add 3/4 cup cherry juice and cook over medium heat, stirrin constantly until mixture is thick and clear. Remove and add cherries and coloring. Turn into pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Spread with remaining ingredients (stir together until smooth) leaving a three inch circle in center of pie without the mixture, sealing cheese to edge of crust. Bake 30 minutes longer. Cool.
