LIME PIE SUPREME | |
1 envelope gelatin 1 c. sugar, divided 4 eggs, separated 1/4 c. water 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. lime juice 1/4 tsp. grated lime peel 1 c. whipping cream 3 drops green food coloring 1 baked pie shell Mix together gelatin, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 teaspoon salt in sauce pan. Beat together egg yolks and lime juice and water. Stir into gelatin mix. Cook and stir over low heat just to boiling point. Remove from heat, stir in grated peel and food coloring. Chill, stirring occasionally until mixture mounds. Beat egg whites and 1/2 c. sugar. Fold gelatin mix into egg whites, fold in whipped cream and pour into baked pie shell. Top with whipped cream, garnish top with grated nuts and grated lime peel. |
