CHICKEN PAPRIKAS | |
1 lg. onion, sliced in rings 4 tbsp. butter 1 1/2 tbsp. Hungarian paprika 1 1/2 lbs. chicken, washed, cut up & sauteed 1 green pepper, sliced 1/2 c. sour cream 1 tomato Saute onion rings in butter in a 3 quart pot or pan until transparent. Remove from heat and add paprika, chicken, half the green pepper and half the tomato. Cover tightly with a lid and simmer slowly for 1/2 hours. Occasionally turn the pieces over so they will cook evenly. Add small amounts of water. When meat is tender, transfer to baking dish. Make pan gravy. Scraping onion, pepper and tomato from the pan, add sour cream. Pour over chicken and garnish with remaining green pepper and tomato. A side dish to compliment this delicious meal is buttered noodles. |
