CHOCOLATE OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 pkg. chocolate fudge cake mix
2 c. oats
1 pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Beat egg, water, butter, shortening, sugar and 1/2 cake mix (dry) until smooth. Stir in remaining cake mix, the oats, chocolate pieces and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet. About 6 dozen cookies.
