CHOCOLATE TIPPED SHELL COOKIE 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 tbsp. shortening (Crisco)
1/2 c. chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts)

Cream butter. Gradually add sugar, beating to light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla. Gradually add flour to butter. Mix well. Shape dough into 2 1/2 x 1/2 inch sticks. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten 3/4 of cookie lengthwise with fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool.

Combine chocolate chips and shortening in microwave. Dip unflattened tip of cookie into hot chocolate. Coat both sides with nuts. Place on wire rack until firm.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
