DATE NUT BREAD 
12 oz. dates, chopped
3 tbsp. butter
1 c. boiling water
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. baking soda
3 eggs
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla

Combine dates, soda, butter, and water; mix and cool. Cream eggs and sugar. Add to first mixture. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Add vanilla and nuts to above mixture. Pour into slightly greased bread pan. Bake for about 60 minutes at 350 degrees.
