HOLIDAY SUGAR COOKIES 
1 1/3 cup "Real" butter
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
8 tsp. milk

Frosting:

1 box powdered sugar
1/3 cup melted butter
1 tsp. vanilla
small amount of milk

Cream butter, and then add eggs, sugar and vanilla. Mix well. Sift the dry ingredients together and start adding small amounts to the batter; also adding small amounts of milk until all the ingredients are used. Roll out on floured surface and cut with cookie cutters. Place cookies on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 9 minutes at 375°F.

FROSTING: Cream the above frosting ingredients and add the milk slowly until you get the consistency you want. Beat well by hand. You may also divide the frosting into several bowls to make a variety of colors with food coloring. Colored sugar and other candy decorations are fun to use.
