APPLE JOHN 
2 c. milk
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour

Stir well to make a thin dough. Pour into hot butter greased pan. Pour sliced apples on top of dough (a quart or more). Sprinkle apples with 3/4 - 1 cup sugar, depending on tartness of apples. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees in 9 x 13 inch pan. Cut into squares and serve with whipped topping, if desired.
