SQUASH PATTIES 
1 egg
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
2 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp. finely chopped onions
1 c. cooked, mashed squash
1/2 c. self-rising flour
Hot salad oil

Combine all ingredients except salad oil. Mix well; drop mixture by tablespoon into 1/8 inch hot oil, in large skillet. Flatten patties to 1/2 inch thickness. Cook to golden brown. Turn and brown on other side.
