1 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
4 squares chocolate
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream sugar and Crisco. Add melted chocolate and beaten eggs. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to sugar mixture. Fold in nuts. Bake at 350 degrees until toothpick comes out clean when inserted in middle of brownies.
