SANTA'S STARS 
3/4 c. butter
1/2 c. waffle syrup
1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. oats
Finely chopped pecans
Milk chocolate stars

Beat together butter, syrup, brown sugar and egg until well blended. Add combined flour, soda, and salt. Mix well. Stir in oats. Chill about 1 hour. Shape to form 1-inch balls, roll in nuts and bake on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven about 10 minutes. Remove form oven and gently press a chocolate candy star into center of each cookie. Remove from cookie sheet and cool. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
