STRAWBERRY WALNUT BREAD 
1 pt. fresh strawberries, rinsed, with stems removed, and patted dry
1 c. each: sugar, divided, and chopped walnuts
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. each: baking soda and vanilla
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 eggs
1/3 c. vegetable oil

Cut strawberries in pieces to make 2 cups. Sprinkle with 1/2 of sugar; set aside. Combine flour, baking soda and cinnamon. In large mixing bowl, beat eggs with remaining sugar until pale yellow. Stir in oil and vanilla. Add walnuts and flour mixture, stirring only until blended lightly. Add reserved strawberries and their liquid. Stir only until combined. Spoon into well greased lightly floured, 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from pan; cool on wire rack.
