MOLASSES POPCORN BALLS 
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
4 quarts popped corn
1/2 cup peanuts or mixed nuts
1 cup molasses

Melt butter. Add sugar, molasses, and salt. Boil on medium heat until very hard ball stage (260°F).

Combine popcorn with nuts. Pour hot mixture over nuts while stirring thoroughly. Butter hands lightly. Shape into balls when cool enough to handle.

Yield: 12 to 14.
