MAPLE NUT FUDGE | |
1 c. maple syrup 1 c. white sugar 1/2 c. cream 1/4 c. butter 1/2 c. butternuts (or walnuts) 1/2 tsp. vanilla Boil sugar, cream, and butter until soft ball stage is reached. Add nuts and vanilla. Beat until ready to pour into buttered tins. |

If you're not experienced: 1) don't make candy on a humid day; 2) heat ingredients on low until sugar melts; 3) use a candy thermometer unless you're familiar with the soft ball ice-water test; 4) beat until it gets creamy and starts to lose its gloss.
Anyway, this is my go-to recipe for maple nut fudge. Just awesome!
