CARAMEL DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE 
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
6 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. white sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
4 eggs, separated
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour once; measure. Add soda and cocoa; sift 5 times. Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each. Add flour alternately with milk, a small amount at a time, beating until smooth each time. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in; add vanilla. Bake in a 9"x13" pan that has been greased and floured. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

BROWN SUGAR FROSTING:

1 box brown sugar
1/2 c. Pet milk
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans

Cook brown sugar, milk, butter until soft ball form in cold water. Add vanilla. Stir until spreading consistency. Add chopped pecans.
