GINGER COOKIES 
4 c. sifted flour
4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 unbeaten eggs
1/2 c. molasses or sorghum

Sift dry ingredients together. Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs. Blend in sifted dry ingredients. Roll in balls and then in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Yield: 6 to 8 dozen.
