RED CABBAGE SIDE DISH 
Coarsely cut head cabbage
4-5 slices of bacon
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. vinegar
3 unpeeled apples
1/2 c. water
1 sm. onion, chopped
Salt and pepper

Fry bacon. Save grease. Place the rest in cooking pot with grease. Cook to tender and add salt and pepper. Cover while cooking. Stir bacon in last.
