APPLESAUCE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. applesauce
1/2 c. cold water
1/3 c. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. vinegar

Sift flour once and add all dry ingredients. Then sift all together again. Add rest of ingredients. Blend in bowl until all is moistened. Pour into a greased and floured 8 inch square or round pan. Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees. (For a 9x13 inch cake or double layer cake, just double the recipe.) This cake is moist enough to eat unfrosted, or good with your favorite buttercream frosting.
