DINNER PARTY STEW 
1 lb. lean beef chuck, cut into sm. cubes
Dash of pepper
3 tbsp. fat
1 3/4 c. meat stock or 1 3/4 c. hot water in which 3 bouillon cubes have been
dissolved)
1 tsp. sugar
1 sm. can mushrooms
3 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 med. onions, sliced
1/2 c. tomato juice
1/2 c. sour cream

Roll cubes of beef in flour, salt and pepper. Brown meat and onions in hot fat 10 or 15 minutes. Add tomato juice, meat stock and sugar. Bring to boil, then reduce heat. Cover pan and simmer gently 1 1/2 hours or until tender.
