HEART HEALTHY BREAD | |
2 cake yeast or 2 env. 1/4 c. lukewarm water 1 3/4 c. skim milk 2 1/2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 6 c. sifted flour 2 tbsp. oil Dissolve yeast in water. Mix sugar and milk together and stir into yeast. Add salt and 3 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Add oil. Mix in remaining flour until dough is stiff enough to handle. Knead until smooth and elastic. Put in greased bowl, turn to coat with oil. Rise at 85 degrees until double. Divide into 2. Shape into loaves, pans 10x5. Rise until double. Bake in a preheated 425°F for 15 minutes; reduce to 375°F; bake 30 minutes. Cool. Makes 2 (1 lb.) loaves (16 slices). 95 calories per slice. |
