HUNGARIAN CABBAGE 
1 lb. ground meat
1 med. onion, chopped
1/3 c. uncooked rice
1 head cabbage, shredded
1 (#2) can sauerkraut
1 med. onion, sliced
1 can tomato paste
2 tbsp. sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

Combine ground meat, onion, and rice. In Dutch oven, place layer of cabbage, sauerkraut, and sliced onion. Spread layer of meat mixture on top. Top with cabbage, sauerkraut and onion, then rest of meat mixture. Put last layer of cabbage, sauerkraut, and onion on top. Mix tomato, sugar, salt and pepper, 1/2 cup water. Pour over mixture; add 1/4 cup water; cover; boil and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
