TOURTIERE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. ground pork
1 med. chopped onion
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 c. water
Saltines
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
Pastry for 2 pie crusts, 9 inch
2 med. potatoes, mashed

Put meats, spices, onion and water in pan. Cook, covered, low heat about 1 hour. Drain liquid, add crushed saltines to absorb balance of liquid.

Mix meat mixture and mashed potatoes. Put bottom crust in 9 inch pan, spread mixture evenly and put on top crust. Trim and crimp edges, slash slit in center to let out steam. Bake at 350 degrees until crust is golden, approximately 1 hour.
