APPLE CAKE 
3 c. self-rising flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 eggs
1 1/4 c. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. orange juice
2 c. grated apples
1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped pecans

Mix together flour, sugar and cinnamon. Mix together eggs, oil, vanilla and orange juice and add to flour mixture. Add remaining ingredients to mixture.

Bake at 325°F for 1 1/2 hours in a well-greased and floured tube pan. When cool, remove and punch holes with a drinking straw in top of cake. Pour Buttermilk Sauce over cake slowly.

Buttermilk Sauce:

1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 stick butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda

In a saucepan, cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
