ITALIAN SPAGHETTI SAUCE | |
2 tbsp. cooking oil 1 lg. onion, finely chopped 1 clove garlic, crushed (or 1/2 tsp. garlic salt can be used) 6 oz. can tomato paste 2 c. water 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 bay leaf 1/2 tsp. basil 1/8 tsp. thyme 1/2 tsp. oregano 2 tbsp. chopped parsley Heat oil in saucepan, saute onion and garlic for 5 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients; mix well. Bring to a boil, simmer, uncovered for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Makes 1 1/2 pints. |
