DEVIL DOG COOKIES 
COOKIE:

2 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift dry ingredients. Add shortening, egg, milk and vanilla. Mix well. Drop by teaspoons onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake 5 minutes at 425 degrees.

FILLING:

2/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Beat at high 5 minutes. Put between 2 cookies.
