1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs (yolks only)
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 sq. melted chocolate or 5 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. milk

Cream together shortening and sugar. Add the egg yolks. Sift the dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Then add alternately with the milk into the sugar mixture. Mix well and drop by teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes.

FILLING:

2 egg whites
2 c. confectioners sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. shortening

Beat the egg whites until stiff and add the remaining ingredients. Beat until smooth and then frost one cookie with this mixture and place the second cookie on top.
