3 c. plain flour, sifted
3 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco
5 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, Crisco and sugar. Add flour and milk alternately. Add eggs one at a time, blending after each one. Add vanilla. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
