BROCCOLI - ONION DELUXE 
1 lb. broccoli or 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen cut broccoli
2 c. frozen small whole onions or 3 med. onions, quartered
1/4 c. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1/2 c. (2 oz.) shredded sharp American cheese
1 c. soft bread crumbs

Cut up fresh broccoli and cook in boiling water small amount until tender (or cook frozen broccoli according to package directions). Drain. Cook frozen or fresh onions in boiling salted water until tender. Drain. In sauce pan melt half of the butter. Blend in flour, salt and dash of pepper. Add milk. Cook stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. reduce heat, blend in cream cheese until smooth.

Place vegetables in a 1 1/2 quart casserole. Pour sauce mix over all and mix lightly. Top with cheese. Melt remaining butter, toss with bread crumbs. Sprinkle atop casserole. Bake 40 to 45 minutes until heated through at 350 degrees. Makes 6 servings.
