DEATH BY CHOCOLATE COOKIES 
2 pkg. (16 squares) Baker's semi-sweet baking chocolate, divided
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
2 c. chopped nuts, optional

Heat oven to 350°F. Chop 1 (8 oz.) package of chocolate and set aside. Microwave the remaining squares until melted (at 30 second intervals, mixing after each to prevent burning) and mix until smooth. Stir in sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla. Add flour and baking powder and stir until well blended. Stir in chopped chocolate and nuts. Drop by 1/4 cup-fuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 12-13 minutes or until cookies are puffed and feel set to the touch. Cool on cookie sheet for one minute, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Makes about 1 1/2 dozen.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
