CANNED PIE APPLES 
Slice apples to fill a 2 gallon stone crock (heaping). Put 3 cups sugar in layers between apples. Let stand for 12 hours weighted down with heavy object on a plate over apples. Put in sterilized jars and seal. Process at boiling temperature in pressure cooker or canning kettle for 25 minutes.

Juice should be divided between jars of apples when filling. Apples will draw their own juice. Fill jars to 1 1/2" from top.
