NORWEGIAN BREAD PUDDING | |
2-3 c. dry bread, cubed 4 c. milk, scalded 3/4 c. sugar 1 tbsp. butter 1/4 tsp. salt 4 eggs, slightly beaten 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2-1 c. raisins (optional) Soak cubed bread in milk 5 minutes. Add sugar, butter, salt. Pour over beaten eggs. Add vanilla and mix well. Pour into greased 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Place dish in pan of hot water and bake in 350 degree oven until firm or about 1 hour. Makes 8 servings. |
