TURNIP CASSEROLE | |
4 lbs. rutabaga 1 tsp. salt 4 tbsp. sugar 2 tbsp. butter 1 egg, unbeaten Buttered bread crumbs Pare rutabagas and cut into small pieces. Cook in salted water until soft; drain and mash. Quickly beat with electric mixer, the sugar, butter and unbeaten egg and mashed rutabaga. Pour into buttered 1 1/2 quart casserole. Sprinkle with buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Yields: 8 servings. |
