Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare tins or pans with shortening.

2 c. self-rising flour
1 2/3 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. water with 2 tsp. instant coffee
2/3 c. butter or mix of both
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. cocoa

Mix all together and beat on high with mixer 4 minutes. Bake 1 hour.
